The journey
An overview of the itinerary
This 16-day Philippines itinerary offers a varied island-hopping route with a balanced pace that works especially well for a friends’ trip. It begins on Coron Island, where the mix of viewpoints, lakes, lagoons and white-sand islands immediately sets the tone. Highlights include the climb up Mount Tapyas for sunset, the famous Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, Barracuda Lake, and the stunning trio of Bulog Dos Island, Banana Island and Malcapuya Island. The journey then moves to Bohol, combining beach time with some of the country’s best-known natural sights. Alona Beach brings a livelier atmosphere, while White Beach and Dumaluan Beach feel more relaxed. Inland, the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier Sanctuary add a very different side to the trip. Siquijor stands out for its waterfall-focused days and remarkable sunsets, especially around Coral Cay and Paliton Beach. Cambugahay Falls and Lugnason Falls are the island’s signature experiences. In Moalboal, the itinerary shifts again toward two standout nature moments: the Sardin Run at Panagsama Beach and the milky waters of Kawasan Falls, with time at Lambug Beach as well. The final stop, El Nido, rounds out the trip with postcard scenery: Entalula Beach, Snake Island, Pinagbuyatan Island, snorkeling, a small cave, and long beaches like Nacpan Beach and Las Cabanas Beach. Overall, it’s a strongly nature-led route built around beaches, waterfalls and some of the most memorable island landscapes in the Philippines.
